Bearcats Will Be Bowlin’ Again This Year

After back to back BCS Bowl bids, the University of Cincinnati came into the 2010 season with high hopes even with Coach Butch Jones taking over the reigns.  Something went terribly wrong however and the Bearcats finished the 2010 season with a 4-8 overall record, and an even worse 2-5 record in the Big East.

The big question is: Can the UC Bearcats get back to their winning ways and be in a post-season bowl this year?  The answer is simply stated… yes.  Let me tell you why.

The Bearcats return 16 starters from the last year’s squad, including the entire defense.  After ranking 20th in FBS in rush defense, the sky is the limit for this growing defense.  On the offensive side of the ball, the Bearcats return 6 starters, including their starting quarterback, Zach Collaros, and Pre-Season All Big East 1st Team Selection running back, Isaiah Pead.

With the schedule as favorable as ever, the Bearcats can look forward to home games against 2010 Big East Champion, UConn and runner-up, West Viriginia.  I believe this football squad can go into conference play undefeated and with their most difficult game being at Pittsburgh, I have no doubt that we will see UC in a bowl game this post-season.
