No Love For the Bearcats

This might turn into a rant so bare with me.  Rivals.com from Yahoo! Sports is currently releasing their upcoming football season rankings for all FBS schools… from #120 all the way to #1.  Granted these mean squat considering many pre-season number 1’s have went down in flames over the course of history, but for kicks I wanted to see where they had our UC Bearcats.  And the answer is… #75?!?!

Ok Yahoo!, we had a rough year, but to say we have dropped 70 spots in just a year is ridiculous.

The toughest part to swallow is the fact that they rank Miami (OH) University #71.  Hello?!?!  Are their writers missing something?  I guess they forgot the 45-3 drubbing that the Bearcats put on the Redhawks about the same way they forgot that UC is only one season removed from back to back BCS Bowl berths.

Even worse, two spots ahead at #73, are the “mighty” Scarlet Knights of Rutgers.  Wait a second, I must be misreading this. Rutgers… ahead of the Bearcats?!?!  I suppose the 69-38 beating that the Bearcats laid on the Squires of Rutgers must have slipped their minds.

Bottom line, the Bearcats are being slapped right in the face.  This team will be on a mission this year and I firmly believe they will bring back the exciting football that our fans in Cincinnati have grown to love.
