Opening Statement
- Great all-around win against Louisville as the team showed great resiliancy being down at halftime.
- Need more focus on the details (blocked punt, fumbles, pick-6, missed tackles, etc.)
- South Florida is the best overall football team Cincinnati has played this year.
- Veteran group of players on both sides of the ball
- Averaging 53 points scored at home and it’s a tough road test for the Bearcats.
Q & A
- BJ Daniels is more a dual-threat quarterback than Teddy Bridgewater of Louisville (who wants to pass first). BJ will elect to do either off the snap.
- USF is a very physical team, especially on the D-Line. It seems like the Bulls always have good defensive linemen.
- Punt returner by committee right now. Everyone, DJ included, need more focus.
- Wind was a pain in the ass on Saturday for special teams. You know wind plays a factor when returners are catching kickoffs at the 10 yard line.
- Woods is still a great playmaker on this offense but needs more consistency.
- ‘1st Down Efficiency’ should be 65% or more and this was hampered by the passing game early in last week’s game. The run game was doing it’s job, though.
- Building Paul Brown Stadium into a homefield advantage with a win is huge.
- RDA IV is a natural returner and is a big reason why he’s been the starting returner since Game 1. He has a very bright future but can’t be used in the same sentence as Mardy Gilyard just yet.
- Progression of the football team’s mental toughness and leadership is lightyears ahead of what it was last season.
