Love the destination, the venue, the opponent, and the timing. I talked about it yesterday the advantages of this bowl game and I know Coach Jones and AD Whit Babcock are excited about it as well.
Butch Jones Turns Down Illinois Job: Expected to Interview With North Carolina
I’m not at all surprised by the fact that Jones won’t be heading to Illinois. If you had a shaky-at-best relationship with your boss, would you really following him to a different job if he reached out to you? Neither would Butch. Now the UNC interview is intriguing but if he did in fact get recommended for the job, it would irk some people if he refused to go to the interview. High-level jobs like coaching college athletics is all about who you know, so Jones made the correct networking move by at least going to the interview.
