Lefeld’s emergence solidified line, title run

Lost in the shuffle this past season was redshirt freshman Eric Lefeld’s play at right tackle. He’s been shaky at times especially early in the season but he stepped in for Sean Hooey and performed admirably for how little experience he had at the position. It’s tough to adjust from playing offensive line in high school to college. It’s even tougher moving from defensive end in high school to offensive tackle in college, as Lefeld did and he’s done well in the transition. His reps this season will only make him better as he prepares to take over the right tackle position permanently in 2012.

The Bearcats Are Cashmere Wrights Team Now. What Does That Mean For Yancy Gates

It’s definitely an intriguing question as Yancy Gates’ suspension nears an end. Cash has exploded in the past few games mainly because he’s emerged as a leader of the team. As a result, the offense has greatly benefited from the new 4-guard sets and I’m curious to see how Gates fits into that scheme as well as taking a back seat to Cashmere Wright.
