It’s the first time in over five season that the Lady Bearcats have been to a postseason tournament. Despite a rough first couple of seasons Jamelle Elliott has finally established a core group of young players off of which she can build a championship program. It’s unrealistic to think they will win a national championship next season but Elliott has set the Lady Bearcats up for winning seasons and not drop to the bottom of the conference.

Cincinnati’s Walter Stewart prepares to lead

Walt had a slow start to the 2011 season but really turned it on once Big East play started. He had the benefit of playing next to future NFL players on the interior but Stewart has been a centerpiece of the UC defense for years now. As a senior he has an opportunity to really make a name for himself if he performs well over the course of the entire season.
