Cincinnati President Santa Ono Shaves His Head

You might be wondering why this is newsworthy. You might also be wondering why this is categorized under “Bearcats Basketball”. Well after the beating the Bearcats took last night at the hands of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish I didn’t feel much like writing about the game itself. It was just too eye-gougingly painful to revisit the events of those 2 hours last night. The postgame festivities were much more enjoyable.

What festivities, pray tell? Well Santa Ono shaving his head, of course! The UC president made this promise before the season contingent upon either the Bearcats football or basketball team going 10 – 0. While Butch Jones’ squad wasn’t quite up to the task, Mick Cronin decided that he and Darren Savino weren’t going to be the only ones walking around the Lindner Center without hair. And with a beatdown of Marshall in mid-December to give UC their 10th straight win to open the season, President Ono’s hair was his no more.

Tonight we were finally able to see Santa come through on his promise. Here he is, as bald as the day he was born:
