Bearcat of the “Week”: Sean Kilpatrick

Haven’t done one of these in a while. Originally this series was intended to be what the name indicates, a post giving props to the Bearcat who outperformed all other Bearcats in the past week. But other duties have caused me to neglect it. Curse you, real life!

Anyways, this Bearcat of the “Week” (last, let’s say, couple of games) award goes to good ol’ #23. After being mired in a shooting funk since basically midway through December, Sean Kilpatrick has broken out of it in a big way over the past two games. Against the Marquette Golden Eagles, with Cincinnati down their star point guard Cashmere Wright, Killa hoisted the Bearcats on his back and carried them to victory. He scored a career high 36 points, leading all players on the floor, shooting almost 48% from the field including 36% from three point land. Then against Syracuse he again led all players but this time with 21 points but made 6 of Cincinnati’s 10 three’s. Unfortunately UC fell short against the Orange on the road but it’s clear that Kilpatrick is starting to heat up which bodes well for the Bearcats as they hit the meat of their schedule.
