Cincinnati Now Calls The American Athletic Conference Home

If you liked people misspelling “Cincinnati” on a regular basis, you’re going to just love the “AAC”.

That’s what we’re calling it now. Not the Old Big East, not the New Conference-USA (although you might as well), not the Big Clusterfuck (this works too), the American Athletic Conference (AAC). There was speculation about Mike Aresco and who’s ever left in Providence that “Metro Conference” might be making a comeback. Not in strength or prestige but in name alone. However attempting to revive an old brand didn’t really make much sense and it was wise to start fresh. So the American Athletic Conference, a name that best reflects the breadth of the conference, was created.

My only qualm is that AAC looks awfully similar to about half of the other conferences in college sports; ACC, AEC, ASC, CAA, MEAC, MAC, MAAC. Things are about to get confusing around here.
