The future is here, people! This entry marks the inaugural post in the newest phase of this website. For the past two years I’ve been writing about the team I’ve become unhealthily obsessed with under the name “Bearcats Nation”. From its inception on August of 2011, I was able to add my personal touches all over the blog by building it from the ground up as I saw fit. That includes some custom coding as well as a creation of headers and logos. The housekeeping was meticulous at some points but at the end of the day the end results were something I could be proud of.
But after two years of maintaining an independent site, more and more of my time began to be diverted towards the upkeep of the site and away from doing what the original purpose of the blog was for, writing about the Cincinnati Bearcats. The shift wasn’t exactly dramatic or overwhelming but certainly noticeable and made blogging less enjoyable, even if by a little bit. I won’t get into the nitty gritty because I’m sure I’ve lost most of you already.
Anyways, if you’re still reading, independence had its advantages but they pale in comparison to those you get when joining a community of blogs and especially one as strong as FanSided. Here, as the owner of “Cincy on the Prowl”, I’ll be able to focus basically 100% on the writing portion of blogging, which is why I started doing this in the first place, and make this site bigger and better than ever. Over the next several days expect this site to transform into the one you have visited previously, “Bearcats Nation”, with content devoted to football/basketball recruiting profiles as well as the Statestify! entries. All of that will just be under the “Cincy on the Prowl” name. And, if you want to reference any old piece from the past two years, they are still readily available to you as it too will be placed under the “Cincy on the Prowl” name.
So to wrap this up, nothing has changed, really. The blog is under a new name, at a new location, but will still have the same wildly erroneous and outrageous content. Should be fun!
