Another week in the NFL in the books, another update on the current Bearcats in the pros.
Kevin Huber: The Bengals and Bills went to overtime this week and as a result the Cincy punter got a little extra work this week. Huber punted five times averaging 41.2 yards per boot and a long of 50. Slightly down from last week’s performance but still strong numbers.
John Hughes: This little run from the Browns the last few weeks came to a screeching halt on Sunday as they lost to the Detroit Lions 31-17. Cleveland defensive lineman John Hughes contributed with a tackle.
Brent Celek: Despite quarterback Nick Foles passing the ball all over the place, he didn’t seem to look in the direction of Eagles tight end much. Celek was targeted just once in the passing game but did catch that ball for ten yards.
Trent Cole: Fairly quiet this week, he notched a tackle and a pass batted down.
Connor Barwin: One of his better weeks of the season. Barwin contributed two tackles for the Philadelphia Eagles including a sack of Tampa Bay quarterback Mike Glennon. Not a bad performance from #98.
Derek Wolfe: Not exactly the blowout some were expecting but the Broncos did go on to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 35-19. Wolfe notched a pair of tackles including one behind the line of scrimmage on Sunday.
Kenbrell Thompkins: For most of the afternoon Tom Brady seemed to look in the direction of fellow wideouts Aaron Dobson and Julian Edelman. But it was Thompkins who made the biggest catch of the afternoon. Late in the 4th quarter with the clock ticking down, KT caught a pass in the corner of the endzone to give the Patriots the lead and the win. By far the best performance of the weekend from any Bearcat. Thompkins caught three total passes for 45 yards, including that touchdown, on the day.
