With the 2013 college football season going out with a bang last night, and taking the dreaded BCS with it, the final AP and Coaches Polls have been released. The Cincinnati Bearcats finished 35th in the Coaches Poll with 3 votes but did not receive any in the AP Poll.

The lack of national recognition isn’t all too surprising. After all, UC ended the season on a 2-game losing streak and even though the loss to Louisville was close, the Bearcats got manhandled by North Carolina in the Belk Bowl. Plus Cincinnati’s schedule was horrid. Several opponents not only finished below .500 but with just a few wins to their name. The Bearcats only faced one opponent who finished the year in the top-25 (the Cardinals) and of course UC lost to them.

So overall it’s not too surprising that while Cincinnati boasted a 9-4 season, it was perhaps one of the weakest schedules of any other team with that same record.
