After the departure of Ty Helton to Western Kentucky as the Hilltoppers’ new offensive coordinator, Tommy Tuberville had even more voids to fill on his coaching staff. Well it seems he is promoting from within. Pete Roussel is reporting that he is giving graduate assistant Marc Nudelberg the special teams coordinator and tight end responsibilities.

And Nudelberg confirmed it himself.

First of all, congratulations to the young man. Nudelberg is living every graduate assistant’s dream right now and Tuberville must think extremely highly of him to give him so many responsibilities.

For obvious reasons, UC’s new ST coordinator/TE coach doesn’t have an extensive resume but did work under Bobby Bowden at Florida State for the better part of the last decade before joining Cincinnati last season. I’m sure the knowledge Nudelberg picked up from working under such prestigious coaches as Bowden and Tuberville will serve him well. And considering how awful Cincinnati’s special teams unit was in 2013, maybe a fresh start with a new coach, albeit a young one, will prove beneficial for the Bearcats.
