Update: Whit Babcock Has Not Applied For Virginia Tech Job

The Enquirer’s Tom Groeschen has tweeted out this morning that Whit Babcock hasn’t applied for the Virginia Tech job, per his probably reliable sources within UC’s athletic department.

Obviously this almost completely disproves the report yesterday from Mark Berman at the Roanoke Times. At first glance this news is calming. Losing Babcock at this extremely tenuous juncture in Bearcats athletics wouldn’t be devastating but certainly damaging. But I’m viewing this update with cautious optimism until we hear something directly from UC and preferably Whit Babcock’s own mouth.
Until then, buckle in, folks. This is going to be a wild ride.
