Potential UC Flip Tajee Fullwood Signs With South Florida

With a recruiting class filled with nearly 30 players, the Cincinnati Bearcats didn’t have much wiggle room to add many more prospects on National Signing Day. But there was one that could have potentially made the switch at the last minute, cornerback Tajee Fullwood.

As we discussed on Monday, Fullwood had visited Cincinnati on January 24th. This despite the cornerback and Tampa, Florida native being committed to the nearby South Florida Bulls for the last eight months. Given his last minute second decision to see UC for himself, and the habit of recruits falling in love with campus on first sight, it looked encouraging for Cincinnati to steal him from their AAC foes.

But Tajee Fullwood decided to stick out his commitment to the Bulls and sign with them this morning.

That’s not a shot in the gut by any means. Fullwood was just one player out of like 30 who could have signed with UC today. But the talented cornerback’s skills could have definitely been utilized at Cincinnati where cornerback is all of a sudden a position with nary any depth. Adding Fullwood to the roster, and potentially two-deep, next season would have certainly helped solidify the cover corner unit for UC.

But I’ll close on a positive note. By all accounts, former Tennessee linebacker Kevin Mouhon is expected to sign with Cincinnati. If he does so, along with defensive end Spencer Williams who Mizzou is making a late push to snag, they will round out a fine recruiting class for the Bearcats.
