The latest AP Poll was released a little bit ago, with UC moving up in those rankings, and the Coaches Poll has followed suit. However the Bearcats didn’t rise as much in these rankings. Instead, Cincinnati is slotted 9th in the most updated Coaches Poll, receiving 526 votes.

Getting back into the top-10 is good for this program and the team. They were knocked in the gut against the SMU Mustangs and rebounded against Houston, displaying the same defensive dominance as during the 15-game winning streak. As such, they were reward by moving up in both polls. Of course all this does is hype the upcoming game against 11th ranked Louisville on Saturday. I’d expect nothing less than a raucous Fifth Third Arena on Saturday as the Bearcats attempt to move one step close to securing an AAC basketball championship.
