With another week of moving and shaking among the college basketball ranks and Cincinnati beating Houston on Saturday, the Bearcats have risen to 7th in the latest AP Poll, receiving 1,157 votes. UC of course dropped down to 10th last week after losing to SMU two Saturdays ago. But a win over Houston this past weekend and the likes of Michigan State and Villanova losing helped bolster them back up to the highest mark ever in the Mick Cronin era.

This ranking sets us up with a ginormous contest on Saturday against #11 Louisville. Cincinnati of course shouldn’t look past UCF on Wednesday but you can’t help but get excited for a packed-to-the-rafters Fifth Third Arena between two top-15 teams. The Shoe should be rocking as the Bearcats inch ever closer to their first AAC basketball championship. If Cincinnati can take out Louisville on Saturday, who are right on UC’s heels in the standings, that title is effectively the Bearcats’ to lose.

Should be an exciting week!
