UC Bearcats Basketball: Cincinnati Falls To #15 In Latest AP Poll

After losing to then 26th ranked UConn on Saturday, the Cincinnati Bearcats have fallen to #15 in the AP Poll. They received 737 votes in this week’s poll.

So that’s a four spot drop from the previous week and eight total from when the Bearcats peaked at #7 two weeks ago. Quick losses to Louisville and UConn did away with UC’s top-10 ranking. Quite honestly, Cincinnati is ranked right about where they should be. This team doesn’t have the depth or offense to be among the top-10 but the defense and length to be among the top-20. The Bearcats have simply been too inconsistent with the ball in their hands of late to be talked about with the Florida’s and Syracuse’s. It is what it is.

Additionally, with the win over Louisville (thank god) on Saturday, Memphis has been bumped up a slot to 20th, meaning the Bearcats and Tigers will be a top-25 matchup on Thursday night. Overall, the AAC boasts five ranked teams, exactly half of the conference. It’s like being back in the good ol’ days of the Big East…
