15 Thoughts from the Harvard Game

"Some of the heat Mick Cronin has received for losing the game is absolutely stupid. There were actual people telling me that Cronin hasn’t won anything in the tournament. This was the first time in Cronin’s UC career that UC lost to a team they were favored against. The other teams they lost to were UConn, Ohio State and a 7 seed Creighton. There are legit things to talk about and then there are idiotic things that detract from every point you are trying to make."

The Gunner Kiel Parody Account Wins The Internet

"Well done you brave denizens of the internet. This might just give Jason Kelce’s Beard a strong run for my favorite UC parody account."

This is pretty outstanding.

UC Baseball Update- March 27

"“I’m trying to lay the foundation for what’s expected around here,” said the UC head coach. “Missing signs is not acceptable. I heard the Wichita State basketball coach this weekend talk about ‘championship behavior,’ and missing signs is not championship behavior. If I allow it (missing signs) now, it will still be here three years from now. I’m not afraid to bench my shortstop or my best hitter if they miss signs. We’ll eventually start competing for championships.”"

Ty Neal not accepting anything less than perfection. I like it.

Where Are They Now: Branden Miller

"Now 27 years old, Branden Miller went from leading Indian Hill to a league championship and a 20-2 record to playing for the University of Cincinnati. While being recruited by a number of small colleges, Miller instead walked on at UC in 2005 when Andy Kennedy was serving as interim coach after the resignation of Bob Huggins."

Where Are They Now: John Tobin

"An assistant under former coach Brian Miller, Tobin worked his way to offensive line coach and offensive coordinator. With Miller stepping aside, Tobin moves into another role of authority. When not near a blocking sled, he’s also the school’s Dean of Student Life/Assistant Principal."

Football Announces Spring Game Details

"The event, which wraps up the Bearcats’ 15-session spring practice season, is free and open to the public and runs from noon until 2 p.m. ET. Gates C, D and E at PBS will open at 11 a.m."

Kilpatrick Named NABC Second Team All-American

"Kilpatrick is the first UC player named an all-American by the organization since Steve Logan earned first team accolades in 2002."

Young Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

"Young (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) scored on all four shots she took against the Titans. The senior also picked-up a pair of ground balls and caused a turnover as the Bearcats ran their winning streak to five games. Young has now registered 12 goals on the season, while starting all nine games."

UC still plays in the Big East in lax?

Gunner Kiel Looks To Make Name For Himself In Cincinnati

"After throwing for 7,362 yards and 89 touchdowns in three high school seasons, Kiel was ranked as the top high school quarterback prospect in the country by several recruiting services and elected to attend Notre Dame where he redshirted for a team that played in the BCS Championship game two years ago.  But faced with the prospect of serving as a backup to Everett Golson for three more seasons, Kiel elected to transfer and contacted Coach Hinshaw about the possibility of playing at Cincinnati."
