Texans add some defensive line depth with Ricardo Mathews

Matthews spent the last four years with the Colts, and has played defensive end in a 3-4 alignment. The 6-foot-3, 300-pounder has been a solid rotational player in the past, with six career starts.

Big plans will cost big money at UC

UC’s overlapping priorities range from athletics to medicine, all projects the college says will allow the university to compete nationally. But their price tags range from $10 million to more than $100 million during the next half-dozen years.

Woodall Named Female Track Athlete Of The Week

Possibly the most impressive race for Woodall was in the 4×400 when she anchored the Bearcats with a 54.2 split and pulled off a come from behind win. She was given the baton in third place and nearly 50 meters behind the top two teams, but the Coatesville, Pa. native caught up on the back stretch and stole the lead to anchor UC to a winning time of 3:42.73.

Justin Glass Named to American Honor Roll

Glass finished the five games last week with a team-high eight hits, six runs scored, five RBIs, two doubles and three homeruns. He had a batting average of .421 to go along with a .522 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage.

Source: Hoffman no longer involved in TU search

After requests to provide an update on the search, now approaching the two-week mark, TU said in a statement Tuesday, “The process of hiring a head basketball coach is ongoing and progressing well. The university will not discuss nor confirm possible candidates for the head-coaching position.”

Kony Ealy: Destined for the Cincinnati Bengals?

Logic dictates that they could use another talented lineman. Michael Johnson left via free agency and Margus Hunt, last year’s second round pick, is still a big question. Gilberry and Carlos Dunlap are capable pass rushers, and of course Geno Atkins will be featured, but an injury, or a down year from one of them, leaves the team short on sack artists. As they proved in several big games last season, a lack of a pass rush leaves the rest of the defense vulnerable and leads to losses.
