When the Cincinnati Bearcats run out of the tunnel of Paul Brown Stadium this fall, they will be preceded by a new intro video. While the finished product probably won’t be revealed until UC’s first home game against the Toledo Rockets on September 12th, BearcatsTV has provided us a little teaser in the form of a behind the scenes video.

I wasn’t too impressed with last year’s version. To be honest, in my mind few live up to the awesomeness that was the Pat Summerall special during the 2010 season. But 2013 was all show and no substance. Plus it was far too seizure-inducing for my taste. Unfortunately the same team from Old Hat Creative is filming the 2014 iteration of Cincinnati’s intro video. Hopefully they’ve learned tone down the strobe light.

Stray Observations

  • Smoke is good. I like smoke.
  • No, those aren’t ancient catacombs below some random Roman neighborhood, that’s the basement of the Roadtrippers Headquarters. I’m not quite sure what they do. It would have been much cooler if UC flew Tuberville and his players to Italy for those shots but maybe in another conference when Cincinnati was being paid scraps.
  • So Silverberry Mouhon looks jacked. Let’s just go ahead and send this video to the rest of the AAC now.
  • RED HELMET ALERT!
  • Jeff Luc’s shirt isn’t rolled up to his chest. Has the move to middle linebacker changed his perspective on life?
  • There are plastic gnomes in the basement of the Roadtrippers’ HQ. I’m still not sure what that company does but if I had to guess it’s supplying Travelocity with an endless supply of lawn gnomes. It’s a unique business plan, for sure.
