O-Lineman: UC Wants You

"Generally speaking, no school wants to have fewer than fifteen scholarship offensive linemen on its roster. If all those offensive linemen redshirt (a common occurence), that means a school would wants no less than three in each recruiting class. Unfortunately for the Bearcats, that minimum hasn’t been met in three of the last four years."

Summer Is The Time For Shaquille Thomas To Go To Work

"The good news is that the message is sinking in with Thomas. He, along with Jermaine Sanders, have become the leaders on this team. They are the guys who are organizing and controlling the off season runs and workouts, they are the ones who are showing leadership vocally and in more subtle ways. All of which is great, but the best news of all is that in those sessions Shaq Thomas just stays in attack mode nonstop, and that is exactly what the Bearcats are going to need come fall."

2013-14 Most Improved Teams – Men’s Cross Country

"The 2013-14 season marked a new era for the men’s cross country and track and field programs at the University of Cincinnati. For the first time in over three decades, Bill Schneir would not be leading the two programs. For the men’s cross country team, head cross country and track and field coach Kris Mack would lean heavily on associate head cross country coach Sam Burroughs to develop the UC harriers into a contender."

Cincinnati City Guide – Most Stylist Cities in America

"Cincinnati itself is a rambling mass of old construction and modern ideas, with a vibe that feels more laid-back and southern than Midwestern, as evidenced perfectly by our hotel, the national historic landmark Hilton Netherlands Plaza. With soaring ceilings and marble everything, the only thing detracting from a feeling of stepping into a much fancier past was the air conditioning’s subtle breeze and masses of overly muscled mixed martial artists milling about, in town for a competition.  As with any city undergoing revitalization, the contrast between new and old is stark, though these lines don’t seem to have the same marks of inherent class warfare you see in places like New York. Cincinnati seems to welcome the change, without discarding its past."

The Reds Creativity And Resourcefulness Is About To Be Tested More Than Ever Before

"The Reds already have a thin bench.  That’s been well-established since about the third day of spring training.  Now, they’re playing with this three-headed monster combo at first base, which at the very worst is creating a trickle-down effect that has scrubs like Ramon Santiago and part-timers like Skip Schumaker getting close to full-time work.  Plus, we have inexperienced players manning first base, leading to the types of moments like Bryan Pena’s throwing error that led to the tying run in the eighth inning yesterday."
