Nippert Stadium Construction Update: August 28th

With the season right around the corner, Tom Gelehrter and Bob Martin are back to provide us an update on the construction of Nippert Stadium’s new press box. The renovations appear to be moving right along as the football gods continue to provide the crew with outstanding Summer weather.
Stray Observations
- It’s an early start for the workers on the site. They apparently pour concrete from 3 am to 7 am prior to the students arriving on campus.
- The three “cores” that hold up the entire structure are continuing to be finalized and filling in the foundation.
- So. Much. STEEL.
- Construction will begin on the East concourse in the next month or so. These renovations won’t be as “flashy” as on the opposite side but will go a long way to improving the fan experience as a whole. Foot traffic will be cut off on September 15th. Guards will be posted on September 22nd. So be sure to get all of your post-bar high jinx out of the way before then, you crazy kids.
