We have one more week of no Bearcats football. The good thing about Week 1 as Ben has highlighted, the Bearcats are defacto number one in the division after watching everyone play. UCF looked solid against Penn State, but lost in the remaining seconds. We already knew they would probably be our biggest competition, but hopefully the rest of the AAC can do better so when we beat them we get more national notoriety.
Let’s check out who our AAC foes play this week:
Saturday 9/6
Stony Brook @ Connecticut, ESPN 3, Noon
SMU @ North Texas, Noon
#4 Oklahoma @ Tulsa, ABC/ESPN 2, Noon
Navy @ Temple, ESPN 3, 1 PM
Maryland @ South Florida, CBS Sports Network, 3:30 PM
Georgia Tech @ Tulane, ESPNEWS, 4 PM
East Carolina @ #21 South Carolina, ESPN U, 7 PM
Grambling State @ Houston, ESPN 3, 8 PM
Memphis @ #11 UCLA, Pac-12 Network, 10 PM
I’ll have my eyes on the East Carolina/South Carolina and the Maryland/South Florida games. Playing the SEC and Big Ten can an AAC team pull off an upset? Do we Bearcat fans care? Hmmm, no not really, but we need something to hold our attention until Week 3 when are boys tear up Paul Brown Stadium September 12th against Toledo.
