Tommy Tuberville Miami (OH) Week Press Conference Notes

The Cincinnati Bearcats kick off their next game week, this time against the Miami (OH) Redhawks, the same way they do every week, by hearing from Tommy Tuberville himself.

Stray Observations

  • “After all is said and done, I thought we played pretty well” – Ain’t that so.
  • Miami (OH) apparently has two of the better cornerbacks Cincinnati will face this year. OK.
  • Tommy Sniffles: 17 this week.
  • Tuberville called the Victory Bell the “Liberty Bell” almost immediately after claiming how important rivalry games are. Clearly UC’s annual game with Miami isn’t very top-of-mind for him and he’s trying to talk himself into playing the Redhawks every year.
  • Starting center Deyshawn Bond is day-to-day with a knee “tweak” but senior Dominic Mainello will start against Miami.
  • He was disappointed with Cincinnati’s defensive backs. Weren’t we all.
  • However he was pleased with the Bearcats’ runningbacks but he called out Tion Green as someone who needs to improve. Tuberville is looking for a stronger rushing attack this season to balance out the passing game and take the pressure off of Gunner Kiel.
  • Kiel, Munchie Legaux, and Jarred Evans will all play this week. I’d take a guess and say it’ll be in the same manner as against Toledo.
  • The starting punter and kicker against the Redhawks will again come down to practice this week.
