College Football: Week 5 in the AAC

Last week was a bit interesting as our Bearcats struggled mightily against Miami of Ohio and I personally wasn’t expecting that at all. The Bearcats won which is what matters most, but the strangle hold I thought we had on the AAC might not be as tight as thought. ECU right now is the favorite in our conference after knocking off North Carolina on the road and scoring 70 in the process. ECU has knocked off Virginia Tech and North Carolina, both members of the ACC in back to back week.  The other teams haven’t done anything of note to be scared of for the Bearcats, but those Pirates don’t look like a joke of any kind.

(S/O to Ben for making the Week 4 Power Ranking adjustments)

Let’s check out the AAC games this week.

Saturday 9/27

TCU @ SMU, CBS Sports Network, Noon

Tulane @ Rutgers, ESPNEWS, Noon

South Florida @ #19 Wisconsin, ESPN U, Noon

Temple @ Connecticut, ESPNEWS, 4 PM

Cincinnati @ #22 Ohio State, BTN, 6 PM

Memphis @ #10 Ole Miss, ESPN 3, 7:30 PM

Texas State @ Tulsa, ESPNEWS, 8 PM

The only game, I really care about is the UC/OSU game, a good showing here will put fear into the rest of the AAC and help with recruiting in Ohio as a whole. Some kids that aren’t on OSU’s radar may want to make a trip down I-71 S if we can play good on the Big Ten Network.
