Bearcats Game With Miami (FL) Hurricanes Will Air On Fox Sports Ohio, ESPN3

The Cincinnati Bearcats football game against the Miami (FL) Hurricanes on October 11th will air on Fox Sports Ohio.

When the kickoff time was revealed on Monday, the original announcement placed this on the umbrella ACC Regional Sports Networks. Being a conference home game, they can dictate the terms of the televised broadcast and considering the ACC’s contract with ESPN, it was surmised that Cincinnati v. Miami (FL) could have landed on that family of networks, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, etc. But it wasn’t quite the case.

RSN is a blanket term for the conference’s sublicensing agreement with Fox Sports’ local networks, effectively for the games the Worldwide Leader In Sports doesn’t wish to carry. As a result, this game is set for Fox Sports Ohio to be aired in homes from Cincinnati to Cleveland, from Toledo to.. whatever the hell is near the West Virginia border. That’s great news for those of you who won’t be making the trip to the sunny shores of South Florida and are instead stuck at home in the 513.

For the rest of you who live outside the state of Ohio or don’t get FSO, you’ll be able to view the game on ESPN3. This is especially advantageous compared to CBS Sports Net, which a couple of UC contests have been relegated to this season. Not everybody is subscribed to that channel and for whatever reason, despite an unrivaled streaming presence during March Madness, CBS doesn’t do the same for AAC games. I know that’s been the source of many frustrations for Bearcats fans this season.
