Bearcats BlogCast: The Big Ol’ Cincinnati Basketball Preview

facebooktwitterreddit

With the Cincinnati Bearcats’ 2014-15 basketball season “technically” tipping off tomorrow night at 7:00 PM against Bellarmine in exhibition play, Scott King (@cardscott5) who writes for Bearcats Blog (@BearcatsBlog) and I put together a little big ol’ primer.

We don’t preview Bellarmine much, really at all. I mean, this is an exhibition game. Mick Cronin’s probably done as little scouting as possible on the Knights and will likely throw out a variety of lineups to test his virtually brand new team. This game tomorrow night is more about the coaches understanding their players and them coming together quickly more so than actually scheming to beat Bellarmine. It would be nice if Cincinnati won. I mean, they should win, but it’s not especially critical that they do.

So Scott and I flat out skipped a preview of tomorrow night’s game and discussed far broader topics surrounding Bearcats basketball this season.

  • A rundown of the 7 new players on the roster
  • Breaking down each position
  • Predictions of a starting lineup and those who will get the most minutes at each spot
  • Discussing how UC will fair sans Kilpatrick, Rubles, Jackson
  • Will anybody redshirt?
  • Who will be the surprise, breakout player?
  • The outcome of this season
