Just when you think you have this conference figured out, everything gets shaken up again. We saw another upset this week, as Houston was beaten at home by Tulane. Memphis was nearly upset by Temple, but preserved their share of first place at the final gun. Much like the old Big East was, The American is the most balanced conference in the country. What makes the NFL great is that anybody can beat anybody on “any given Sunday.” The same could be said about “any given Saturday” in the American, which is something you don’t see in leagues like the Big Ten or the SEC.
