As Ben wrote last week, Cincinnati’s final regular season game against the Houston Cougars was tabbed as a nooner on either ESPN or ESPN2. Now it seems the Worldwide Leader has decided to air the game on their primary network.
Just announced, the Houston game will be televised on @espn and kickoff at noon!

If there’s any time this season for UC fans to gather up as many friends, family, and pets and bring them to Paul Brown Stadium, next Saturday is it. The Bearcats will be on display in potentially 98 million households in a game that has American Athletic Conference championship implications. While PBS is the program’s temporary home, hoisting an AAC trophy in front of 35-40,000 fans will certainly look better than the sea of empty green seats like against South Florida and East Carolina.
Current weather reports have temperatures at a mild 50 degrees, a sauna relative to the usual December day. There’s a 40% chance of rain in the morning but if the storm holds off, it could be dry and near perfect conditions for a football game. There should be few excuses for fans to stay away from PBS next Saturday if that’s the case.
Perception is important in college football and Cincinnati needs to show the upwards of 98 million households that despite being downgraded to the AAC, the fan base’s support of the program is still as strong as ever.
