Larry Davis Is Keeping The Bearcats Afloat During Unforeseen Times
By Jesse Smith
We learned last week that Men’s Head Basketball Coach Mick Cronin would be out for the season with an unruptured aneurysm in his brain. We all wish Coach Cronin a speedy recovery and from his recent interviews it seems like everything will be ok.

With the absence of Cronin, Associate Head Coach now Interim Head Coach Larry Davis has been the captain of the Bearcats ship. After each game the team seems to find their identity Davis has been doing a great job keeping them afloat. The Bearcats are 4-1 in the five games that Davis has been the head man beating the likes of NC State and SMU in those five games. For the Bearcat fans that were worried (points to self) it seems the former Furman head coach is just what the Bearcats needed to help us through these troubling times.
The season is still young, but as of now the Bearcats are 11-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Honestly if you told me we would have that record after 14 games at the beginning of the season I would’ve shook your hand and said I’d take it. Let alone the shocking circumstances of Mick and his random situation.
The Bearcats still look like a threat in the AAC and have a strong chance to make the NCAA tournament and we can thank Coach Davis for that. Coach keep the Bearcats afloat you will be a local legend given the circumstances and probably be offered a head coaching job from various teams next year, but we will cross that bridge when its time.
