Coming into tonight’s games versus the Temple Owls the Bearcats were reeling. Losing two in a row on the road versus conference foes, brought some doubt to #BearcatNation as the team seemed to regress, especially after watching the Memphis performance. I personally thought UConn would be a tough game because they always keep talent and still have Senior point guard Ryan Boatright, but what I didn’t expect was the Bearcats literally getting dominated by Memphis a team that lost a ton of seniors from last years team.
I didn’t know what to expect tonight, I just hoped the Bearcats would be able to dig down and right the ship. On Saturday Night in front of 12,017 hyperactive fans the Bearcats took the Owls to the good ole woodshed to get back on the right side of the record column. Watching the game you noticed a few things, the offense was very crisp, they made Temple work for every shot and UC dominated on the glass. They cleaned the glass so good, I thought they were endorsed by Windex. Out rebounding the Owls 36-22, the Owls only shot 36.5% from the field for the game, so it gave UC a lot of opportunities, but that aside UC took advantage of shoring up the back-end which led to the offensive explosion demonstration Saturday Night.
The Bearcats won 84-53 and shot 53.7% from the field for the game, but like Coach Davis said in the presser, “If we rebound and play defense that way we will be in every game.”
Way to rebound Bearcats 3-2 in the conference is a lot better than 2-3, now its time to move on to Houston.
