Cincinnati Bearcats Recruiting: Defensive Tackle Norman Oglesby Signs With UC

Defensive tackle Norman Oglesby has officially signed with the Cincinnati Bearcats for their 2015 recruiting class.

OVERVIEW

Norman Oglesby is apparently an accomplished wrestler and that knowledge of leverage translates well to the football field. He does an excellent job using his hands to slip by the offensive linemen or moving him in a manner that makes him unbalanced. At that point Oglesby wins everytime and is in the backfield in a hurry. Additionally, the defensive tackle uses that low center of gravity to his advantage by exploding quickly out of his stance before the blocker has a chance to react. All of those factors make Oglesby a nightmare to game plan against let alone block.

OUTLOOK

With a slew of prospects filling the ranks at defensive tackle in the 2014 class along with younger players already in the system who will be upperclassmen by the time Oglesby steps on campus, he probably won’t have much of a chance to see the field in his first year. As such as redshirt is likely in his immediate future. That will give him the necessary time to hit the weights and add more muscle to his already stocky frame.
