Cincinnati Bearcats Recruiting: Running Back Josh Holloman Signs With UC
By Chris Bains
Running back Josh Holloman has officially signed with the Cincinnati Bearcats for their 2015 recruiting class.
Here’s a snippet from his full recruiting profile.
OVERVIEW
Holloman is a well-rounded runningback. Again, his unique size and speed combination is impressive enough. But the way he optimizes those measurables makes him an above average prospect. Holloman has the top end speed to win a footrace with defensive backs, typically the fastest players on the field. Essentially if he gets to the second level untouched, there’s a good chance no one else is going to be able to touch him either. I’m really impressed with his vision as well. Holloman runs a little too upright but it gives him the ability to keep his head up and see the flow of the play as a whole, rather than just the few players and lanes in front of him. He doesn’t have an incredibly quick, one-step-and-go move but that raw speed allows him to round edges and get upfield quickly. Overall, Joshuwa Holloman is a dynamic player at the high school level who is more than ready to take his tools to the collegiate game.
OUTLOOK
In 2015, the Bearcats could be hitting the reset button on the runningback position with Hosey Williams gone to graduation. Tion Green will be the most experienced returning player as a senior but unless he improves his game this upcoming season, his spot at the top of the depth chart is far from secure. So there’s a chance Holloman could see the field as a true freshman, although he will have to battle with fellow 2015 verbal Taylor Boose should he stick around to ink his letter of intent on National Signing Day. No matter the future for this runningback, let’s hope it’s with Cincinnati.
