Nippert Stadium Renovation Construction Update: February 25th, 2015

Tommy G and Bob Marton returned this week to provide all of us eagerly awaiting an update on the Nippert Stadium construction exactly that, an update on the construction progress.

STRAY OBSERVATIONS

  • Weather won the battle last week, as workers were forced to halt progress for 3-4 days. It’s been fairly forgiving during this whole project but unfortunately it seems it got the better of the crew. Everything seems to be back up and running now, though.
  • The next major addition to the exterior is the addition of the bridge connecting the press box to TUC. Now the richy riches don’t need to even step down to our level when approaching their seats. That’s nice.
  • Bob Marton talks about angular steel like I talk about product velocity and promotion efficiency. I guess we all have our little passions.
  • The other exterior work includes windows to the south side and the finishing touches to the interior walls.
  • But most work is being done inside, such as dry wall, wiring, and I imagine a 24 karat gold fountain.
  • Workers seem to have made noticeable progress on the east side, putting the finishing touches on the women’s restroom and some of the concession stands.
  • Over the next three weeks they’ll actually be adding furniture to the new structure. It’s happening, folks! It’s really happening!
