UC Bearcats Head Coach Mick Cronin On Senior Day: “I will be there.”

As we’ve hoped, Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Mick Cronin will be at Fifth Third Arena on Sunday for UC’s senior day.

No, Mick won’t return to the sideline to coach the team. Larry Davis will still assume those duties and its safe to say things will stay that way through the end of this season. That’s a smart decision. Davis has filled in well in Mick’s stead, going 14-7 since taking over as interim head coach. He’s had lapses of foolishness but under the circumstances I think he’s done a nice job.

So there’s no reason to rush Mick back anytime soon if his doctors deem it unnecessary.

But returning to honor one of the players he recruiting during his final game at Fifth Third Arena doesn’t harm his health. I certainly wouldn’t want be the one to tell Mick he couldn’t see Jermaine Sanders off.

Make sure you get to The Shoe early tomorrow for Senior Day ceremonies. An hour before tipoff should suffice. I’d be curious to see if Mick or Jermaine get the louder cheers from the fans. Regardless, I’m sure those of you in the crowd will honor them properly.
