As we sit on the eve of the two greatest days of the sports year (the first round of March Madness), it’s time for another Nippert Stadium Hardhat Wednesday. I happened to be on campus last week, so I decided to add a few pictures of my own to the latest tri-weekly edition.
- Railings, stairs, and glass are going in on the exterior – the new West Concourse is really starting to look like a stadium.
- The skybridge from TUC to the new structure is nearly complete. The glass wall in the bookstore is currently blocked by drywall, and will soon be replaced by glass doors.
- Interior walls of the suites are going in, and a mock-up of the cabinetry gives an idea of what the finished suites will look like.
- East side concession and restroom work is progressing nicely. The bridges from the East Upper Deck to Sheakley Lawn will be the last thing to go in this Summer.
- The press area in the new structure will vastly increase space for the media when Nippert reopens with a three-tiered media level.
