Nippert Stadium Construction Update: 4/28/2015

Tommy G. and Bob Marton were back again this week with another Nippert Stadium Hardhat Wednesday.  If you’ve been following the Nippert Construction Cam, you’ve noticed substantial progress over the last few months.  T-minus 128 days until opening night!

Here is a summary of some of the recent progress (video below)

  • All of the new lights are now fully installed.  Lights now stretch the entire length of the roof on the new West concourse structure, and there is one tower at the Northwest corner of the stadium.  The amount of lights on the East side of the stadium has doubled, as two new banks of lights have now been installed near the middle of the field to augment the existing two in either corner.
  • The stairs to the Herschede-Shank Pavilion have been gone for a while now, but the first signs of the new walkways that will eventually connect to Sheakley lawn are now being installed.
  • Window installation is nearly complete in the West side, and painting and electrical wiring continues inside.
  • Bearcat Plaza is now structurally complete, and all that remains is interior work and replacing fill dirt around the outside of the new restrooms and concessions.
