What’s Up With UC’s Obsession With A Near-Naked Cincinnati Grad?

Back on March 11th the University of Cincinnati published a pretty entertaining article about UC grad Robert Burck, dubbed the Naked Cowboy for the fact that he walks around in tighty whities while strumming a guitar in public. It’s an appropriate nickname for a grown man who’s created stardom by simply having zero shame and practically screaming “LOOK AT ME DANG IT, OH PLEASE OH PLEASE LOOK AT ME” with his attire. But I certainly enjoyed the piece*.

*pun intended?

Since then, holy crap has UC been promoting the hell out of it on social media.

Dude.

What’s UC’s obsession with this guy? I get he went to the school and majored in Poli-Sci, which is hilarious in its own right. Burck’s certainly made a name for himself in the world but my goodness does UC want to get the word out there that a street performer who dresses in his underwear and walks around New York City went to Cincinnati. Maybe they paid for the use of the term “Barecat” and want to get as much run out of it as possible. Maybe Burck paid UC to share his story in the fleeting seconds of his 15 minutes of fame.

I’m not sure but it’s certainly caused me to filter this out of my Twitter feed in the future.
