Potential TV Networks For 2015 UC Bearcats Football Games

The potential TV networks on which Cincinnati Bearcats football games will be aired has been revealed. Plan accordingly.

Right now, that’s just a single game not being broadcast on television, four games on CBS Sports Net, and the rest on the ESPN family of networks. The loner Battle for the Victory Bell on Fox Sports Ohio not included, that’s exactly how Cincinnati, or at least the American Athletic Conference, wants it.

As mentioned earlier this week, it’s all about exposure. The AAC and ESPN signed a television deal that puts most of their games in front of the 94+ million households with a subcontract with CBS Sports Net for the less desirable ones. The idea is to broadcast the young conference’s brand to as many people as possible rather than have games relegated to the Internet with ESPN3 or the WatchESPN apps.

That’s why you see UC’s games against Temple, UConn, Tulsa, East Carolina, and potentially South Florida on CBS Sports Net instead of ESPN’s streaming channel. The Worldwide Leader offered them up to their partner, who gladly added the content to their own burgeoning network, and the AAC doesn’t have to go through the extra effort of convincing viewers to hunt down their games on ESPN3. It’s just a premium sports package and a remote click away.

Everybody wins in theory.
