For the past.. oh.. 18 some-odd months, Nippert Stadium’s turf had been protected by a tarp to preserve it while the old press box was torn down and new one constructed. It was a smart move as the field was only a couple of years old with probably another decade until it will have to be replaced again. UC certainly doesn’t want to shorten it’s lifespan if it doesn’t have to.
Thankfully the long awaited day has finally arrived (yesterday) as several folks walking around the stadium took the opportunity take a quick snapshot. Boy do you really get a feel for what our gem is going to look like come September 5th.
Here’s one angle from linebackers coach Jeff Koontz.
And...Boom!!! No cover on the field. If that doesn't get your blood pumping I don't know what will. #ProtectThisHouse pic.twitter.com/m43pk89TQV

And some from behind and near the North endzone via Ian Howard in the ticket office.
Thanks @CincinnatiUCATS. There's a lot more where that came from...#gobearcats #Nippert15 pic.twitter.com/PbLrdX6Jm6
