Cincinnati Bearcats And Temple Owls Will Air On ESPNews

The Cincinnati Bearcats and Temple Owls football game on September 12th will air on ESPNews. The AAC has yet again worked their magic to get the conference, and UC, more national exposure.

Cincinnati’s riding a two-game winning streak over the Owls, having blasted them 38-20 in their inaugural season in the AAC and squeaking by 14-6 last year in Philly. Other than Memphis, that’s the lowest point total UC’s high-powered offense that averaged 34 per game scored last season. And it could be even closer next year with Temple returning every single key contributor on an already loaded defense including first team All-AAC linebacker Tyler Matakevich.

So it stands to reason that the conference would push ESPN to air this on one of their televised channels, albeit ESPNews. I wouldn’t blame you if it took you a few minutes to find this in your channel list but this is far preferable to ESPN3. ESPNews reaches into actual households and it’s great for exposure since, believe it or not, it’s actually easier to thumb through the onscreen TV guide rather than pull up ESPN3 on a browser then wait for the streaming to load.

If this game winds up being as compelling was we expect, a battle between high-scoring offense and shutdown defense, there will be plenty of eyes on this one at newly renovated Nippert Stadium on Saturday night.
