Oak Hills OL Mason Garrison Walking On At Cincinnati

Oak Hills offensive lineman Mason Garrison is apparently walking on at Cincinnati. The 6’5″ 280 lbs Highlander had previously been offered a spot with the Ohio State Buckeyes late last year after receiving offers from Division II programs Gannon, Malone, and Mercyhurst. He also reportedly had another from Western Kentucky.

"Oak Hills senior OL Mason Garrison has scholarship offers from Gannon, Malone, Mercyhurst and a preferred walk-on opportunity at Ohio State, according to former Oak Hills coach Dan Scholz."

But apparently the winds of change have carried Garrison to the gates of Clifton and he will be walking on at UC now.

I’m not sure what his fate will be as a Bearcat. It’s obviously way, way too early to say if he will see his name on the two-deep sometime in the next few years. But Garrison’s highlight tape looks rock solid (see below) and 6’5″ 280 lbs linemen who run 5.4 Forty’s don’t just grow on trees. Overall this has the potential makings of an excellent pickup if he earns a scholarship and develops into a high level collegiate guard or tackle at UC.
