Nippert Stadium Construction Update: 7/22/2015

We are getting closer and closer (44 days) to the grand re-opening of the renovated Nippert Stadium, as UC will host FCS Alabama A&M on September 5th.  And conversely, the stadium is getting the finishing touches in preparation for opening night.  And boy, is it a work of art!

  • The East Concourse is nearly finished.  Structurally, everything is in place.  The buildings that will house new concessions and restrooms, the walkways, the stairs, and the skybridges are all in place.  All that remains is plumbing and electrical work.
  • Similarly, nearly all structural work on the West Concourse is done.  Paint, carpet, tile, and lighting are either done or in the process of being installed.
  • The rooftop deck on the club level is being fitted with stone, and will be a great spot to enjoy the game – especially during nice weather.
  • The new concessions underneath Bearcat Plaza on MainStreet are structurally complete, and the granite stairs and walkways are being replaced.  You can really notice the progress in this area on the Nippert Construction Webcam.
  • The new lights are now fully operational on both sides of the field, and lighting has nearly doubled.
  • Oddly enough considering all the progress, seats are still missing from the 400-level suites.
