Bearcats Players Apparently Running Up To 7 Miles At Practices

Imagine yourself running a mile. Now imagine running seven of those. Now imagine doing it in 80 degree temperatures with 90% humidity. Now imagine doing it twice a day.

I don’t know about you but I’m exhausted just thinking about that.

For UC football players at the Bearcats’ Fall practices in Camp Higher Ground, that’s their reality; waking up early, running seven miles during a two hour practice and doing it again in the afternoon if it happens to be two-a-days. This especially from the receivers and when you watch them running circles around opposing secondaries, you can see how they have the endurance to do that.

UC’s support staff found this out by way of GPS units that certain players are wearing as a means of measuring their physical output each practice. You can get a run through via the cool video below, which is just another in a long line of cool videos showcasing the meshing of technology and athletics at Cincinnati.
