Poll: Do You Agree With UC Withholding COA Money From Players For Violations?

facebooktwitterreddit

Almost out of no where, whether or not universities should withhold Cost of Attendance money from players has become one of the most heated debates in college athletics. I guess that’s what offseasons are for, right?

Some call it “fining” players, UC head coach Tommy Tuberville calls it withholding a portion of stipends for players violating team or school rules. Regardless, most folks are taking a firm stand one way or the other.

I can see both sides.

On the one hand, withholding COA cash is like your parents not giving you your birthday money from Grandma because you pulled your sister’s hair that morning. Sure Suzy is kind of a jerk but that should be your ten dollars. On the other, if you pulled your sister’s hair, shouldn’t you be punished for that? Maybe that was the 14th time this week you pulled Suzy’s hair and your parents’ groundings weren’t getting through to you. Holding onto that ten dollars might cause you to start acting like a civil member of this society for once.

So I’d like to put the vote to you, Cincinnati Bearcats fans, or others who visit this site (/snicker), which side you take.
