It’s been ten years since the University of Cincinnati football program left mid-major mediocrity in Conference USA and made the jump to playing big boy football in the Big East, then a BCS automatic qualifier conference.  It’s also been ten years since I moved into my dorm room, Daniels Hall #410, as a freshman at UC – Time sure does fly.  Of course, the conference has changed names and members, but it’s tough to argue that the rise of Cincinnati Bearcats football wasn’t spurred by playing in an AQ conference with much greater national exposure.  During the past decade, UC went to eight bowl games (including the 2009 Orange Bowl and 2010 Sugar Bowl), won ten games in five different seasons, won five conference titles, posted a perfect 12-0 regular season, and averaged 10.3 wins per season from 2007-2014.  With the input of a few friends, Jared Blackmore and Dr. Andrew Gantzer (no relation to UC’s clutch kicker), I have compiled the UC Football Power Conference Era All-Decade team – The legends who put Bearcats football on the map.
