UC Bearcats In The NFL: Regular Season Week 7

With the Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos on a bye this week, Kevin Huber and Derek Wolfe are notably missing from the below update on the former UC players making a name for themselves in the NFL. But there was still plenty of action to be had from these Bearcats doing their school proud.

Trent Cole: Had a pretty solid game for Indianapolis on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. Cole finished with five total tackles include a pair of tackles for loss. He might be on the back end of his career but it’s clear that he still has some gas left in the tank.

Travis Kelce: In a game that revolved primarily around the defenses for the first half, the Kansas City tight end still managed to pile up the yardage, as he tends to do. Kelce was targeted six times, pulling in five of those passes for 73 receiving yards. With Jeremy Maclin still on the mend, Travis Kelce remains Alex Smith’s favorite target in the passing game.

John Hughes: Notched a tackle against St. Louis in their shellacking at the hands of the Rams.

Ricardo Mathews: Had one of his best games all season, piling up three tackles in San Diego’s loss to the Oakland Raiders.

Brent Celek: Once again a factor in Philadelphia’s passing attack, the tight end caught two of his three targets for 11 yards on Sunday evening.

Connor Barwin: A relatively quiet day from the hybrid defensive end/linebacker out of Philly. Barwin nabbed himself just a pair of tackles in the Eagles’ loss to the Panthers.
