Bearcats BlogCast: Houston, Tulsa, ‘Crootin, And Western Carolina!

Just a jam-packed Bearcats BlogCast today as Scott and I did a special afternoon podcast. There’s a ton going on with UC athletics right now, what with it being November and all. The football team’s in the midst of their season, the basketball team’s games finally mean something starting in two days when they face Western Carolina, and today is National Signing Day for hoops.

And somehow we managed to pack all of that into an hour. That was mainly because I had a hard stop after that hour but, still, give us some props for scrambling to fit that in and avoid our usual ramblings that tend to bog down/immeasurably improve the podcast.

Here’s a full list of topics we discussed today.

  • Breaking down the Houston loss, yet another in a series of frustrating losses.
  • The performance of the defense and how they played pretty well on Saturday.
  • Chris Moore’s big day and the disappearance of Mekale McKay this season.
  • For the first time this year, Mike Boone receiving his due majority of the carries at running back.
  • The juxtaposition of playing Boone in obvious passing downs if the coaches claim he’s the third worst pass blocker among Williams, Green, and himself.
  • Tulsa. I spent more time writing these two sentences than Scott and I did breaking down the Golden Hurricane.
  • National Signing Day with 4 star guard Jarron Cumberland officially signing with UC today and center Nysier Brooks expected to follow suit. We also talked about what kind of impact we can reasonably expect of them as true freshmen next season.
  • What we want to see out of the Bearcats against Western Carolina on Friday night.. other than a win of course.

As always, you can listen via the media player below but feel free to subscribe to our podcast on iTunes. We’re also up on Stitcher. At least I think we still are. We’d love for you to rate and comment on it.
