The 121st Battle for the Victory Bell will kick off at 3:30pm on Saturday, September 24 inside Nippert Stadium.  The game will be televised nationally on ESPNNews.

This afternoon, the American Conference announced kickoff times and TV information for Week 4.  The 2-0 Cincinnati Bearcats, fresh off a road win at Purdue and proudly receiving precisely one vote in this week’s AP Poll, will host the Miami University Redhawks for the right to ring the Victory Bell at 3:30pm on Saturday, September 24.  Plan your Saturday accordingly.  The game has been picked up for national television on ESPNNews.

In my own, personal opinion, 3:30 kickoffs are the absolute best for tailgating and a game.  The 3:30 kickoff makes for the quintessential college football Saturday.  It should help boost attendance toward a sell-out in a rivalry game that has already done well at the box office over the last several years – at least when the games are played in Cincinnati.

Before that, UC will of course host a titanic struggle with the #6 Houston Cougars, who come to town this Thursday night in front of a national TV audience on ESPN.  UC finally won a turnover battle this past Saturday against the Boilers, mostly thanks to Mike Tyson’s Punch Out worth performance of 3 INTs.

If the ‘Cats can keep holding onto the ball and taking it away, watch out.  If you recall (and I’m sure you do), the Bearcats have taken down two Top 10 teams inside Nippert in their last three tries.
